CHARLOTTE & JONNY

How did you meet your fiancé?

Jonny and I met in 2015. I had just moved house and started a new church in Dungannon. It wasn’t until the following year that we started chatting!

How did he propose?

We had planned to go for dinner up in the North Coast in December 2019. I started to get a bit suspicious when Jonny was so concerned that it was getting too dark and kept stalling the car….he is still convinced that he wasn’t nervous?! Lol but anyway, at Mussenden Temple he got down on one knee!

Were you wedding plans impacted by Covid-19?

Thankfully we only had one date and were able to get married on 21st July 2021. Other than masked appointments, lots of sanitising and a crazy last few months of planning after lockdown, Covid didn’t manage to really affect our plans in the end. Due to Covid we did decide to hold the afternoon tea after the wedding ceremony outside, and treats for the guests were provided by Vic and Hil and Brook Avenue. A few weeks before we were worried about rain - however, the main struggle was actually finding shade on the day as the temperature was 30 degrees!

What brought you to Jade Alexandra Bridal?

I came across Jade Alexandra Bridal on Instagram and thought it looked like my dream wedding shop! 😍 I listened to a few of Jade’s stories and researched the dresses and designers she had in store and was immediately sold!

How did you know your dress was the one?

So during my appointment at Jade Alexandra Bridal, it was actually my sister who pulled out this amazing, floaty but sheer dress! I tried the dress on and loved how I felt in it, however knew it would need a few tweaks and changes. I decided to go away and have a little think about it but couldn’t stop myself from looking at pictures of the dress. So I made another appointment with Jade and knew that the dress was worth it all - even if it did mean getting it lined and reduced from a size 12 to a size 6!

Do you have any dress shopping top tips for future brides?

To future brides I would say don’t let anything or anyone put you off a dress you love. If you can envision yourself in that dress on your wedding day, then GO FOR IT!

Where was your ‘go-to’ for wedding planning inspo?

Pinterest and I became best friends over the year and a half that I was planning our wedding! I had boards and sub boards for every part of the day. It really helps you imagine everything altogether!

What was the highlight of your wedding day?

The highlight for me was definitely the aisle experience. The crazy mixture of emotions in those few moments is unreal. Suddenly you no longer are stressed about all the planning but are just completely focused at who is waiting for you at the top!
